The organization implements humanitarian and development interventions across Northwest Nigeria, focusing on vulnerable and crisis-affected populations.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Officer

Location: Daura, Katsina
Employment Type: Full-time

Position Summary

  • The MEAL Officer will be responsible for designing and implementing monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning systems for the ECHO SAHARA Project.
  • The role ensures quality data collection, analysis, reporting, and accountability to affected populations, in line with donor requirements and humanitarian standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement MEAL plans, tools, and frameworks for the project.
  • Lead baseline assessments, routine monitoring, and endline evaluations.
  • Ensure accountability to affected populations through inclusive and accessible systems.
  • Support program teams in data quality assurance and field-level monitoring.
  • Document lessons learned, best practices, and success stories.
  • Ensure compliance with ECHO reporting requirements and organizational MEAL standards.
  • Design and manage data collection systems using digital tools (e.g., KoboCollect, ODK).
  • Conduct Post-Distribution Monitoring (PDM) and outcome tracking for cash interventions.
  • Analyze program data and generate high-quality reports to inform decision-making.
  • Establish and manage Feedback and Complaint Response Mechanisms (FCRM).

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Economics, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in digital data tools (e.g., KoboCollect, ODK, Excel).
  • Knowledge of humanitarian standards (Sphere, CHS, Do No Harm).
  • Fluency in English and Hausa is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in MEAL within humanitarian or development programs.
  • Experience working on ECHO or other donor-funded projects is highly desirable.
  • Strong experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
